Firmware

Issues around flashing livebox firmware HAH or Orange ready for jail breaking.

Firmware update - beginners guide?

Evening all. I wonder if you can help. I have 2 units I bought from one of you guys on here some time back. I use them only to upload PV data to pachube / cosm / xively. They have been working fine until the 17th April when they stopped.

I bought the units already flashed and they are still running 306. Having a poke around I think the reason they have stopped uploading is that the api.pachube.com URL have finally been switched off?

xively issues

Don't know if anyone else has had problems recently with xively postings but I've had a couple of instances recently of the xively posting just stopping.

This is the output from my xap-xively.log this evening:

# cat /var/log/xap-xively.log

Firmware Rollback

Hi I have just updated to firmware 313 and have lost my config. When I tried to restore it says it was succesful yet the config is still missing.

I would like to rollback to 311 as it had all the functions I needed.

How do I rollback?

Thansks,

Lawrence

Updating to 311.11 Beta

Forgive me if this has already been covered, I looked through the postings and can't find anything about it.

I decided to bite the bullet and update to the 311.11 Beta so that I could use twitter again. All went reasonably smoothly and /etc/xap.d was populated as expected. I moved xap-livebox.ini. Having rebooted the box I discovered that the plugboard was not running.  I didn't realise, but figured out, that the plugboard.lua file from /etc_ro_fs had to be copied into /etc/plugboard in order for the plugboard to work with the new settings.

Beta 311.8 issue

Hi Brett,

When i enable Plugboard under Assists the baud rate / port settings are displayed, shouldnt this be reserved to enabling the serial schema option only?

thanks

Andrew

Building Firmware

First of all a free admission that I don't have a clue what I'm doing with this, but as a few
people have decided to build firmware to run on the Raspi I thought I might have a go and see
what happened.

I created a VM running Ubuntu 10.04 and had a go at installing the necessary bits to make it
suitable for compiling the firmware.

I made some progress but the "make -f Makefile.bone" always ends with the following error:

make -C src/posix -f rex_posix.mak

Beta 311.3/3.4 Observations

I have just down loaded the latest Beta version 311.3/3.4 and have made the following observation.

1                     Backup does not appear to be available.

Cant login via SSH

Hello,

Was trying to upgrade today, still running 306 with the old pachube.

But i cant login via SSH.

Tried everything:
root/admin
root/password
root/
admin/root
admin/
admin/password
Root/admin
Admin/root

What else can i try? is there a way to reset the SSH password?

Cant remember i ever changed it.

Changing Syslogd

Is there any way to make a permanent change to /etc/init.d/syslogd (it seems to be on the read only file system) ?

I want to change the destination to my syslog server (rather than default 192.168.1.254), so I know the change that is needed is to add -L -R 192.168.1.1.

Thanks

More twitter issues?

Hi all,

after a bit of a break from all things HAH I have starting reworking the way my house and smoke alarms are integrated and hence have been attempting to use xap-twitter to post notifications of events.

It seems that xap-twitter is working but very sporadically. Control via a tweet or attempts to send a tweet only work about 2in10.

the log shows a regular error about not e ought tokens to parse.

Embedded below is my debug log
