Hi All....

Just getting to grips with the HAHNode stuff..... I've got it to a stage where I can see the temp and light endpoints (from the jeenodeApplet.lua) with good data (and lots of spurious stuff) in the Serial view.....however, after about 15-20 mins the good data stops (but the ? spurious stuff continues on the Serial line)....

If I power off the remote node, then power it on again I immediately get good data - but again only for 15-20 mins..... if I try the power cycle again I get no good data at all.  I then have to re-boot the Hub and all starts from the top again....

Do you think I've missed something, or is it a hardware thing?

Hope you can help....

Flakey HAHNode!  After many

Flakey HAHNode!  After many hours of faffing about, I've discovered that the node will only work fairly consistently in a vertical position!!!  Might just be the serial/USB connector so i'm going to rig up a battery pack and power it that way - I'll let you know how I get on.....

The node still drops out after about 15 mins but seems to pull itself back together after 4 mins and survives for another cycle of working then drop-out and repeat!  No biggie - I can hold the values from the last OK transmission and use them till I get another OK set of figures.... its just that I'd thought that the H/W would've been more consistent!  Not complaining - just an observation!

There is a setting that will

There is a setting that will HOLD the value for you its called the "ttl" setting and it can be configured on a per node basis.

http://www.dbzoo.com/livebox/hah_hahnode#node_timeout

I generally have mine set with ttl=900 which allows a couple of missed values before it drops back to a '?' value.

RF is a strange beast indeed.

Thanks for that Brett - now,

Thanks for that Brett - now, is there a command to restart just one applet.... I'm currently using the '# /etc/init.d/xap restart plugboard' command, but was wondering if theres an equivalent for restarting individual applets?  A pointer to a prefered reference site for lexicon and examples would help, please!!

Again, thanks for all the time you spend dragging us out of the mire!

Each applet is a running

Each applet is a running inside the plugboard and there is no way to restart them individually.  If you are debugging one of them you can wrap it up as a standalone application for testing purposes thou.

You know, I remember reading

You know, I remember reading that about 6 weeks ago.....bugger, the booze IS taking effect!.... so can you cast an eye over the lua I've prepared.... I've highlighted the wrinkles in my setup, hope it makes sense!

I would then activate it thusly.. # lua /etc/plugboard/jeenode.lua

AND - can you point me to a generic/specific page so I can work out where I'm going wrong trying to mount NFS drives on my LAN.

Ta!!

Got a 9V battery rigged thru

Got a 9V battery rigged thru a regulator to give me 5V on the Jeenode....checked I've got output (over serial) by looking at it on a nanode.... plugged my Base into the Hub and re-booted the hub.... looked at xFx viewer on the serial line on the Hub.... nothing! Not even garbage data....either I've frazzled the xmit or receive or the hub's serial is duff....bugger!

Going to get a look at the bits with an o-scope tomorrow....

Nice weather, though!

Just a thought, can I utilise the 'B' USB port on the Hub (it appears in the dmesg!) ?.....
