Cron debug?

Hi all,
About once a week my Cron scheduler bugs out and stops running and I then cannot see it running when I do a PS in telnet.
If I restart in the GUI all is well for a while. I can't understand this as i don't change the Cron file and it will run for a few days. No problems.
Is there a way to get a debug log etc??
Or any advice on how to track its issue?

Gary this isn't a bit of code I wrote - its a built-in that is supplied as part of busybox. I would find it HIGHLY unlikely there is a failure with cron.
Upgrade from 12.2.1 -> 1.14.4 was at http://code.google.com/p/livebox-hah/source/detail?r=324
I know 1.14.4 isn't the most recent busybox available but to go beyond that provoked compiling issues I wasn't ready to spend time on resolving. Check for CRON bugs that are fixed with regards to later released than this one, I don't see anything significant.
