I would like to extend the reliability of the jeenode communications.   Most are fine but one is some way away in the garage or the garden in the summer.  Previous plans had focussed on extending the ethernet network and moving the livebox.

I am now wondering if it would be possible to plug a basenode into a Wemos D1 mini (ESP8266), load it with LUA and get it to run plugboard and jeenodeApplet.

Presumably duplicate xap signals on the network won't matter.

With a mixture of 433mhz and wifi I could get the range I need. ...  And more fun than just fitting a bigger antenna!

Guru input most welcome before I waste a lot of time.
